Icebreaking

First post! Keeping it casual—I don't have much to say. So many things are difficult and exhausting, I'd like to really stop to appreciate things properly in a way I can look back on.

This week's been a lot. I have a lot of work to catch up on and my health's been on a decline to the point I had to cancel a personal side project that I really enjoyed. I can resume at any time, but there's a feeling like I'm wasting time and energy that could be better spent elsewhere.

We've been talking about using the credit card to pick up a new laptop for me to replace my workhorse: a secondhand 2013 Macbook that's had nearly all its parts replaced including the SSD last year, which wiped out more files than I'd like (I back up often. Not often enough!) and even the trackpad's broken, so I had to rework everything to be as navigable as possible with my Wacom tablet (which turned 10 years old this year!). I'm really worried about paying it off for two years.

I've been getting work consistently these days, but I'm still anxious about finding clients. It doesn't help that I'm a bit on the generous side—I got very nice gifts for mothers' and fathers' day this year, although I also spent quite a bit on myself. Although I'm starting this blog because of that in the first place. I've been collecting music for seven years now, although it's almost entirely kpop due to sheer accessibility. Easy to keep up with new releases, easy to find group orders to save on shipping or secondhand albums in need of a loving home, and a bloodsucking industry that pumps out constant merch.

This year's had a few highlights already: snagged someone's entire Monsta X collection (eight albums, including a full 4-set of One of a Kind, and my longtime grail The Dreaming) for 700 on Carousell; caught up a bit on NCT albums (digipacks for BTTF and Beat it Up, Universe, and Golden Age); and finally added a new girl group to the collection with NMIXX's Blue Valentine just days before they announced Heavy Serenade, which I'll also be hunting down in the future.

Unfortunately, there are also the international shipments… Caved early and ordered a copy of Allure Korea's April issue for the Golden Goose spread with The8 x Vernon, then Architectural Digest China came in swinging with The8 for Milan Design Week, and I went ahead and preordered my V8 album from Weverse Japan. I don't usually go for the pricier options, but the POBs were hard to resist! Although I accept that I can lose out on the PC I want and I'll have to go looking for it later, but a chance is a chance~ (and I bought through a group order with pooling, so if the conditions are favorable… a chance is still just a chance lol)

I'm also trying to secure the Miniteen Bandai gachapon that dropped recently. The GOM is still looking, but if they can find THEpalee and Doa (one for me, one for mom) then it's a sure buy.

Well I can definitely pay off the laptop. I've been trudging through with just pictures of Wheein by my side while working, I can do anything…

I don't think I'm posting this in a way that other people can easily find. If I'm wrong, sorry~ (๑>؂•̀๑)ᕤ
